Banff

The town of Banff is located in a national park in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. It is about 1 hours drive from Calgary. Mount Norquay ski area is about 10 minutes drive from Banff town centre and is the only ski area within walking distance of the town. The two other ski areas covered on the Banff area ski pass are Sunshine Village (about 20 minutes away) and Lake Louise (about 1 hour away). All three areas are linked to Banff town centre by a number of shuttle buses that are also included on the area lift pass.

Banff Mount Norquay is the smallest of the three ski areas and consists of about 6 blue runs,.6 red runs and a couple of black runs. Most of these runs are quite short and it is possible to ski the whole area in a morning or afternoon. In common with all other ski areas in Banff, a Ski Host service is available where the lift company provides a number of ski guides to show customers around the mountain. This service is totally free and is suitable for skiers and snow boarders of low intermediate standard and above. Unfortunately I have not got any photos of the Banff Mount Norquay ski area (may be next year!!) but there are some on Banff in general in the Banff photo file.
